Omar Awaida Tribute Mural

Joseph Awaida, Raihan Dakhil and their 3-year-old son Omar were fatally struck by an intoxicated driver on Halloween in 2019. Councilmember Roberto Uranga has worked with the Awaida family, Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, artist LaJon Miller and Arts Council for Long Beach to bring forth a tribute mural. The community is invited on Saturday September 24th to contribute to painting the mural.
"7 for 7" is a mural project funded by Council District 7 in partnership with City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine.
