Farm Lot 59 recently became "Certified Naturally Grown." This new program audits farmers who don't use synthetic herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, or GMOs. Certified Naturally Grown is a non-profit not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Organic program, but is based on the Participatory Guarantee Systems model, using peer reviews and inspections by other farmers. It is a great way to promote farmer-to-farmer knowledge sharing and support while creating more transparency about how our food is grown.
